Who Are These People?

The Capital Cabal is the brainchild of Hank Dearden. Hank has been active in Washington, D.C.'s Internet and New Media scene since 1994, and enjoys producing networking events and professional seminars. The focus is typically, but not always, on Internet communications technology, how it is being used, and its effect on business, government and society at large.

The events cover a wide variety of activities, including a networking events at Gua Rapo in Arlington, Blackfinn in Bethesda, and The Sports Club/LA. Other fun activities include an on-field pregame party at RFK Stadium during a D.C. United game, a Halloween party at The Big Hunt, and a 1940's style swing dance at The Tower Club in Tyson's Corner.

The list of professional seminars includes a mini-symposium on the comparative usage behaviors of home-based broadband Internet users vs. dial-up users, an expert from eMarketer reporting on the North American wireless market, Anne Holland from Marketing Sherpa discussing landing page optimization, and CRM Paul Ward discussing how to keep clients happy in a down market. These events are held at the National Press Club, the City Club at Franklin Square, the Tower Club, and are well attended.
